Websites
What websites do you create?
I create professional showcase websites for sole traders, independent shops and small businesses. They’re designed to clearly show what you do, help potential customers find you and give your business a professional online home.
I also create online shops using WordPress and WooCommerce if you’re ready to sell your products online.
What platforms do you work with?
I mainly work with WordPress and Elementor for showcase websites, with WooCommerce used for online shops. These give me plenty of flexibility to create a website that’s tailored to your business and can grow with you.
Which website is right for me?
That depends on what you need your website to do. The Starter Showcase is ideal if you need a simple, professional online presence, while the Showcase Website gives you more pages and flexibility if you have more to say or more of your business to showcase.
If you’re not sure which is right for you, just get in touch and we can work it out together.
Do I need to provide the words and photographs?
You’ll need to provide the content and images you’d like included on your website, as you know your business and your customers best. Don’t worry if you’re not sure what you need — I’ll give you guidance on what to include and where, and help you make sense of it all.
Can you use my existing domain?
Absolutely. If you already have a domain name, I can connect it to your new website. If you haven’t registered one yet, I can point you in the right direction and help you get everything connected when your website is ready to go live.
Will I be able to update my website myself?
Yes. Your website will be built so that you can make your own basic updates once it’s live. I’ll also show you how to make simple changes during your handover, so you’re not left wondering what to click when you want to update something.
Online Shops
Can you set up payments & shipping
Yes. I’ll help you set up the essential shop settings, including your payment method and shipping options, so your customers have a straightforward experience from choosing their products through to checkout. You’ll need to provide the details for your payment provider, shipping rates and any other business information needed for your shop.
Can I link my website to my Etsy or Ebay shop?
Yes. If you already sell through Etsy, eBay or another online marketplace, I can add links to your existing shop so customers can easily find your products. This can be a useful way to bring your website and existing selling platforms together without needing to move everything over straight away.
How many products can I have?
That depends on which online shop package you choose and the size of your product range. We’ll discuss what you need during the planning stage and make sure your chosen package is suitable for the number of products and categories you want to sell.
Can my online shop grow with my business?
Absolutely. Your shop can be expanded as your business grows, whether that means adding more products, new categories or additional features. We can start with what you need now and build on it as your business develops.
Do I need to understand any technical jargon?
Not at all. I’ll explain everything in plain English and won’t expect you to know anything about websites. My job is to make the process as straightforward and stress-free as possible.
How does the online shop process work?
We’ll start with a chat about your business, what you need from your website and what you’d like it to achieve. From there, I’ll guide you through the process, from planning and design through to building and getting your new website live.
You’ll know what’s happening at each stage, and there’ll be plenty of opportunity to ask questions along the way.
Working with me
What happens once my website goes live?
You won’t just be handed the keys and left to figure things out on your own. Every website and online shop includes 30 days of post-launch support, so if you have questions or something needs tweaking, I’m here to help.
What if I need help after my complimentary support period ends?
That’s where my Support services come in. You can choose ongoing Website Care or Care Plus, or book a One-Off if you just need a particular job sorting. You’ll always know where to come when you need a hand.
How long will my website take and will I know what's happening?
Before we start, I’ll give you an estimated timescale for your project and explain what needs to happen at each stage. I’ll also keep you updated as we go, so you’re never left wondering where things are up to.
If something changes along the way, I’ll let you know rather than leaving you guessing.
What if I'm not sure what I need?
That’s completely fine. You don’t need to arrive with a perfectly formed website plan. We’ll talk through your business, what you’re trying to achieve and what you need your website to do, and I’ll help you work out the right approach.
What if I change my mind during the process?
That’s okay — things can become clearer once you see your website taking shape. We’ll have agreed the scope of your project before we start, but if you want to discuss a change or something isn’t quite feeling right, we’ll talk it through and work out the best way forward.
What makes working with you different?
I’m a small business owner too, so I understand that your website is important to your business — and that handing it over to someone else can feel like a big deal. I’ll keep things personal, straightforward and friendly, and I’ll treat your business with the same care I’d want someone to give mine.
